Here are some highlights contained within this month’s update:
If you are aged 75 and over and haven’t yet received the vaccine you still can via:
- Community pharmacies
- Trust vaccine clinics
- GPs
This year’s spring booster is also offered to:
- Residents in a care home.
- Individuals aged five years and over who are immunosuppressed
The PHA is urging everyone who falls into an eligible group to take up the offer of the spring booster as it will reduce the chance of you becoming severely unwell from COVID-19 this spring and summer.
The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) has advised that the first and second dose offer for healthy people under the age of 50 should end on the 30 June in favour of a more targeted approach in 2023/24.
The majority of available vaccination clinics offering first and second doses until 30 June will be Trust led or at a participating community pharmacy.

This Alcohol Awareness Week (19-25 June) the PHA is highlighting the support services that are available for individuals who misuse alcohol.
Northern Ireland Alcohol Awareness Week is a collaboration between the PHA and Northern Ireland’s five Drug and Alcohol Coordination Teams (DACTs) and this week’s theme is ‘Who cares? We care’.
With more than 170 alcohol and drugs support services listed on www.DrugsAndAlcoholNI.info available in communities across Northern Ireland, people who misuse alcohol are being encouraged to reach out and seek help.
